Our E-Fit Dance classes are for every woman who wants to discover herself, her body, get in excellent shape and have fun at the same time! Exotic dance is not just about fitness and movement, but also about self-exploration and your inner grace and beauty. Our goal at E-Fit is to provide qualified and supportive instruction in a fun, caring and safe environment. You will gain confidence, learn how to empower yourself, overcome fears, and even put some spice into your life and relationships!

Pole Dancing

Introduction to Pole

The Introduction to Pole class is a 5-week series that will introduce you to the art of pole dance. You will learn basic moves and techniques to build confidence and comfort when working with the pole. All pole tricks are performed with at least one foot on the floor to ensure gradual, safe strength-building. Students will learn a two minute routine to work left and right sides, increasing strength, flexibility and coordination.

Beginner Pole Dance

The Beginner Pole classes run in 10-week series. In this class you will learn several pole moves (holds, spins, and drops) that are mixed with exotic dance moves, all culminating in a final routine. This class will increase your strength, flexibility, coordination and musicality. You then have the option of shooting your own DVD of your routine in our state-of-the-art studio, complete with club setting lights and smoke. A great keepsake or gift for that special someone!

Intermediate and Advanced Pole Dance: Choreography

These classes run in 10-week series. Building on content from the beginner class, the Intermediate class works on more complex pole and exotic moves, including climbing the pole. The Advanced classes take the pole and exotic moves to an even higher level, including inverting on the pole. Each class learns a routine over the course of the session. You then have the option of shooting your very own DVD of your routine in our state-of-the-art studio, complete with club setting lights and smoke!

Intermediate and Advanced Pole Dance: Create Your Own Routine

These are special 8-week classes offered only in the summer that allow students to work with the instructor to create their own choreography to a song of their choice. At the end of the session, students have the option to perform at the Summer Showcase, which is recorded. Alternatively, students may take private lessons to prepare for the Summer Showcase.

Intermediate and Advanced Pole: Tricks and Technique

These classes run in 5-week series and focus on pole skills as well as improvisational abilities.  Building on content from the beginner class, the intermediate class has an A and B session, each 5 weeks long. You will learn different moves in each session. The advanced class works on difficult spins, turns, drops and inverting. The instructor provides special instruction, from students who are just learning to invert, to students who would like to increase the difficulty of their inverts.

Beginner Pole Aerobics

Get your heart beating with a great pole workout routine to “Pokerface”. Learn several pole moves (holds, spins and drops) on both sides while incorporating strength training and cardio boosts.  You will learn all the same moves as Beginner Pole Choreography, but the focus is on doing the moves on both sides while still incorporating strength training and cardio boosts.

Learn a heart rate-boosting routine to “Right Round” or “Closer” (Intermediate) or “Tik Tok” (Advanced), and learn more advanced skills, such as climbing (Intermediate) and inverting (Advanced).  The focus is on doing moves on both sides while still incorporating strength training and cardio boosts.

Exotic Dance

Exotic I

The Exotic I Dance class is a 5-week series that will introduce you to the art of exotic dance and striptease. You will learn the basic moves that make up an exotic dance and will be introduced to the art of stripteasing (note: there is no nudity in class). In this series, we dance bare foot and by the end of the 5 weeks, you will be able to perform a basic exotic dance for your partner.

Exotic II and Exotic III

The Exotic II and III classes run in 10-week series. Exotic II introduces wall work and adds more stripping techniques. You then have the option of shooting your own DVD of your routine in our state of the art studio, complete with club setting lights and smoke. A great keepsake or gift for that special someone! Exotic III expands on wall work as well as advanced stripping techniques and offers the DVD option.

Burlesque Classes

Burlesque I

Learn the basics of Burlesque.  Students will learn how to shimmy, bump and prance with the best of them.  Introduction to glove and boa work finishing with a short routine you will love!

  • 5-week series (summer session 4 weeks)
  • $80 for the series. (summer session $65)
  • No drop-ins
  • Students may join up to one week late
  • Class length: 60 minutes

Burlesque II and III

Now that you have been introduced to the basics of Burlesque, let’s perfect those moves while adding a few more complicated surprises.  We will work with hats and ties in Burlesque II, finishing with a short routine.  Burlesque III will focus on a different prop each session (fans, boa, etc.).

Belly Dancing

Come explore the mystery behind the movement – experience the ancient art of belly dancing! Learn style, grace and strength. Change how you feel about your own power, and enhance your overall outlook on life itself. Instruction will focus on Egyptian and Turkish styles of belly dancing.

Belly Dancing I

Instruction will include introduction to basic body positions, facial expressions, moving the arms and hands, and isolations — the ability to move various muscles or groups of muscles independently.

Beginner Belly Dancing

Belly dancing is a fabulous way to add grace and musicality to your dancing, and to tone your entire body including your glutes, abs, quads, arms, and much more.
In this 10-week session, Alexandra teaches the foundation of Belly Dance movements, including posture and body alignment, technique, foot patterns, traveling combinations, and a short choreography. In addition, she will introduce
modern and classical Arabic music, Arabic rhythms and finger cymbals.
The class is open to women of all shapes and sizes, ages 15 and up. No experience necessary.

Private Lessons & Practice Time

Private Lessons: Great for current students, or new students!  Use a lesson to perfect moves or choreography you are learning in class if you are a current student especially if you are shooting a video!  Not sure about doing a group class yet?  Try a private lesson in any of the styles of dance in our E-Fit program (Pole, Exotic, Burlesque, Lap or Belly dancing)!  Try it by your self or with one friend!
~ 50 minutes ~ $55 ~ one student
~ 1 hour ~ $60 ~ two students

Private Lesson Packages:
~4 Pack – 4 weeks / 50 mins each – $200
(Paid in advance, must take one lesson a week = $50 Lesson

~12 Pack – 12 weeks / 50 mins each – $540
(Payable in two installments of $270, must take one lesson a week = $50 Lesson)

Semi-Private Groups: These lessons focus more on the technique of really learning the moves of that dance style, much like our group classes.  You and your friends can tailor you class to focus on the dance style of your choice (pole, exotic, lap or belly dance).  You can also decide the length of the class (one hour, one and a half hours or three hours).  See also our “Girls Night Out” page.
1 hour ~$25 per girl ~ 5 girls minimum
90 minutes ~ $30 per girl ~ 5 girls minimum
2 hours ~ $40 per girl ~ 5 girls minimum
3 hours ~ $60 per girl ~ 5 girls minimum

Pole Practice: The studio poles are available for rental an hour at a time.  Work on your moves by yourself, or come and practice with a friend!  (Must be a student of the E-Fit program).
~ 1 hour ~ $15 ~ per student at the Charlottesville studio.
~1 hour ~ $10 ~ per student at the Harrisonburg studio.

Zumba Fitness Classes

Zumba is a Latin-inspired dance fitness class. It fuses red-hot Latin rhythms with easy to follow steps to create a fun, dynamic work out. Zumba is an exhilarating, unique way to exercise. If you like to get your sweat on, but hate the monotony of the gym, then Zumba is for you! Working out and having fun are not mutually exclusive activities, so… ditch the routine and join the party!
